That’s a LITTLE bit harsh, Val. Sure he can’t do field work, but he’s still a damn good hacker and surveillant- something that doesn’t need walking. Plus………. Xavier needs a job now…. and he needs someone to do the more physical work….
Excuse you? Did you forget the excellence of his BRAINS?! He literally just metaphorically wiped the floor with you for smarts, you should be talking about how to promote him and use his intelligence to everyone’s benefit, not playing Captain Obvious about his one limitation, as if he hadn’t noticed.
.
It’s like you’re upset that he’s already accepted it moved on instead of still in shock and wallowing. He’s not in denial & needing a wake up call, he’s just smarter and has had more time to adjust than you have.
The real meaning here is that Val has feelings for Theo and doesn’t want him to get hurt (again). The rest is just a convenient excuse for her to steer him away from danger.
Yes, I agree with what you see about Val, but it’s unwise to try to manipulate someone smarter than you are with convenient excuses, makes them resentful that you tried deceit, distrustful of your advice going forward, and hurt to be so misjudged.
(see the 2 comics later after this)
ME when predict a preventable disaster, and am disbelieved, but then it happens exactly the way said it would:
“This was identified early on as a likely outcome.”
Pattern recognition & extrapolation is my audhd superpower.
ARGH! And sorry, my reply was to Lurker! I didn’t know accidentally touching the Reply next to any comment would instantly switch who I’m replying to, and I can neither fix nor delete it, oops

Ouch…
I mean i am sure there are robot legs and stuff, but he has lost a lot already, and not much more to lose.
Theo: Retires for exactly the length of time is takes to build himself hover boots.
Hover boots wouldn’t help when his problem is that his legs don’t work.
Hover chair is what he needs.
